General causes of symptoms

There are various symptoms of pain, however they are not all listed here. For more information regarding certain pains you are experiencing, please contact our office.

Neck and Shoulder Area:
The cervical (neck) portion of the spine is shaped like a slightly reversed letter “C.” This position disperses the forces of gravity evenly throughout the bones, discs (shock absorbers) and other tissues throughout the neck. If the curve is lost (various reasons can cause this), then the weight of the head is compressed downward. This generally causes muscle tension in the neck and shoulders. *Chiropractic adjustments generally relieve this pressure, greatly reducing the pain while creating a healthier, functioning neck.

Headaches:

There are numerous reasons why headaches occur. One type is cervogenic (coming from the neck). A misaligned neck will cause muscles to spasm slightly creating a tightness that irritates the nerves and produces pain and headaches. *Chiropractic adjustments of the neck have been proven to reduce headaches of this nature.

Lower Back:

I have found in my practice that some of the most severe pain deals with disc bulges that press on a nerve. The pain can be excruciating, cause sensory and motor (muscle) loss and may lead to surgery. At all costs, my focus is to reduce the possibility of this problem ever manifesting. Although this issue can feel like it came “out of blue,” it most likely has been years in the making. Often a misaligned back and vertebra that do not move normally will cause this type of pain and is a warning sign that possible disc involvement may increase. A great defense against eliminating this situation is chiropractic care and core strengthening. Studies have shown that NOTHING is more effective for reducing acute back pain than chiropractic care. *Low-force adjusting available.
